Company Profile

Carlton Glass Co.Pty.Ltd. is the new name for glassware in Australia, but it comes with a long history. In 1934 Carlton Instrument Co. was formed in Brisbane by Henry Carlton. He began manufacturing general laboratory glassware as well as scientific instruments. He was succeeded by his sisters, and they in turn passed the business on to the Cox family. A move to the Sunshine Coast in the 1980’s saw the name changed to Carlton Glass Co. Pty. Ltd. In 2001, the business passed to the Walkinshaw family, who continue the proud tradition of the company.

Since 1934, Carlton has been assisting science and industry with laboratory instruments and apparatus of the highest quality. We pride ourselves not only on the quality of our products, but on the quality of our service as well.

Based on Queenslands Sunshine Coast, an hour north of Brisbane, we have for many years, been a major supplier to the sugar industry, as well as the Australian wine industry. We also supply glass instruments and equipment to areas such as shipping, petroleum, mining and the printing industry to name a few.
